After a very long campaign and an all-too-brief day of rest, we're back at it and here with a quick update, some housekeeping, and a bunch of amazing projects we're following!
Collecting Pledges
As many of you have probably already noticed, BackerKit has processed your pledges β thank you again for your generous support β and notified other backers about any failed payments.
We've received reports from a few backers of credit card companies flagging pledges as potential fraud and declining payment. If this has happened to you, a quick message to your bank or credit card company should resolve the situation and get any charges approved.
BackerKit has informed us that folks who have pledged to support Legends of Adventure have until August 20th to correct any payment issues.
If you're encountering any other issues related to your pledge, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]and we'll try to help you troubleshoot the issue or put you in touch with the BackerKit team. Β Once all the pledges are sorted, we can continue our work on the documentary in earnest and begin the campaign fulfillment process!
3 Great Adventure Game-related Projects We Love
Our crowdfunding adventure may be over, but we want to continue to spread the adventure game love and share some projects that we think members of the LOA community might be interested in!
The Crimson Diamond - Julia Minimata
Arriving on Steam on August 15, Julia Minamata's retro-inspired, EGA text parser mystery adventure The Crimson Diamond follows amateur geologist and reluctant detective Nancy Maple to the ghost town of Crimson, Ontario to investigate the discovery of a massive diamond.
We've been following the development of The Crimson Diamond since it was first announced β it's one of the reasons we wanted to work with Julia on the documentary β and we can't wait to play it. If you're a fan of Sierra's Laura Bow games, we highly recommend checking this one out.
Launching shortly after our campaign, the Kickstarter for Tall Story Games' Heir of the Dog, a new Jekyll & Hyde-inspired comedy adventure game from the creator of Lucy Dreaming, wraps up in just five days!
The point-and-click adventure fully funded in less than two hours and is currently closing in on its next stretch goal. Husband and wife creative team Tom and Emma Hardwidge have a proven track record and are helping keep the adventure games genre alive and well with wonderful projects like this.
And last but not least is a music project with a very cool connection to one of our favorite Sierra franchises: Gabriel Knight.
Sierra alum and composer Robert Holmes recently launched Son of Sequel 2.0 β an expanded version of his last album featuring music in the style of the Gabriel Knight games β on Indiegogo, and as a special bonus, all project backers will receive a new Gabriel Knight short story called Five Hearts, written by series creator Jane Jensen. We're excited for anything that results in more Gabriel Knight goodness in the world!
