Project Update: And we are funded! Thank you everyone!

Hello everyone, and thank you so much for helping us reach our initial funding goal! This is our first time using Crowdfunding by BackerKit, and we're pleased with the results! We also know that our initial funding goal was a larger ask than some have done before, so we doubly thank you all for taking a risk on us.

We're headed for our first stretch goal, which will be a ribbon for the book. We are setting up a poll shortly to let you, the backers, decide what color it should be, black or yellow. Everyone likes the classic black ribbon in their reading material, but we thought we would offer the option of highlighting some of the more somber yellows in Amanda Lee Franck's amazing cover art.

Also, Jarrett from Space Penguin Ink will be on The Weekly Scroll next Friday, June 14th, to discuss the book and all things Space Penguin. You can catch new and old episodes of The Weekly Scroll right here on their Youtube channel. Hosts Ryan and Hunter discuss the latest and greatest in ttrpg offerings from publishers great and small. Space Penguin Ink is lucky to be featured once a month on Not Cat Chats, so tune in to learn more!

We'll be back early next week with the poll and some sneak peaks from the book!

CHEERS!

Project Update: Books printed and in transit to warehouse! Charging cards soon!

Hello everyone, we hope your week is going well! We have a couple of quick hits and we'll be on our way!

First up is a note that the books have been printed and are currently in transit to our warehouse. We'll keep everyone posted with more info along the way. We're super excited to get these out to you as quickly as possible!

Second, this is a note that we will be locking orders and charging cards on August 20th. You have 8 days to make any corrections to your mailing address and to get your cards updated if need be. This will ensure that we can get packaging supplies ordered quickly and have them ready to go once the books land here.

Project Update: Smoke Test and Surveys

Hello everyone, we hope your week is going well!
Today is another milestone for us, as we will be sending out our Smoke Test to a small section of backers, to make sure everything will run smoothly on the BackerKit Pledge Manager end of things. Roughly 5% of you will receive an email from BackerKit PM asking you to complete your backer survey.

If you haven't used BackerKit before, don't worry, it's a simple setup. If you run into trouble, please check all of the super helpful information found at this link (BackerKit backer help). If you are still running into trouble, please email [email protected] with your backer name and email address, and we will help you get sorted.

Very important: your surveys will be sent to the email address that you backed the crowdfund with, so if you used an Apple ID you will need to check that email.

In the survey you will be able to purchase add-ons of extra copies of Hungry Hollow, The Bloom, and Investigators. All of your pledged items will automatically appear in your cart, but you can add extras if you so desire. You will also pay for shipping at this time, so have your address handy. We will not be locking orders or addresses until closer to time to ship, so you will be able to login up until we lock those orders and addresses if you need to change them for any reason.

After the Smoke Test is out and completed, and we have identified and addressed any concerns, the remainder of the surveys will go out to the rest of backers.

Very important (so important that we're reiterating it): after exhausting the list of backer-related questions at this link (BackerKit backer help), if you have any trouble with managing your pledge, please email [email protected] with your backer name and email address, and we will help you get sorted. This is the best way to ensure smooth service.

For those of you who didn't back, you are also able to make pre-orders now by using this link:

HUNGRY HOLLOW PRE-ORDER STORE

Thanks again to all wonderful backers and followers. We've sent the (quite large) print run order in and it is getting prepped, and we are excited to get these surveys out to you now!

Project Update: v.99 and typo hunting (the final stretch!)

We are approaching the finish line to print (and full release). We wanted to give the opportunity for a sneak peak at the finished product (will all the edits, proof passes, and hyperlinking fun included).

We are gearing up to send the files to print, so we wanted to give the opportunity for any backer interested to get eyes on the text prior. If you find any typos or missed linked items, you can submit a form entry here by Wednesday 5am pacific (7/24). After that we'll be getting the file exported for print and loaded up for digital fulfillment.

Look behind the backer only veil to see the almost finished version!

Project Update: Progress and ENnies Nomination

Sneaking this in at the top. We are excited to announce that our previous Liminal Horror adventure, The Bloom, was nominated for the 2024 ENnies for Best Adventure Long Form!  Voting lasts for a few more days!

Progress!
We are nearing the with a final pdf and file to send to print.
  • Josh has two more maps to complete! I’ll squeeze a few of the finished spreads below.
  • I hyperlinked the text and hand checked all 300 ish links (compiling a small list of fixes to integrate when I get the file back from Josh post maps).
  • All of Jert’s proof edits have been integrated.
  • I’ll do a final linking on each maps.
  • Jert will do one last look over for proofing once all is said and done!
  • Then it’s off to the printer and PDFs to you all.
It’ll be here before you know it.

Here’s some of the maps!
