What is the situation with VAT?

I was just checking up on my pledge to see if I needed to do anything else before fall actually comes around the corner. But I noticed that the tax section of my pledge was still empty. This confused me, as every single crowdfunding project I ever backed charged taxes/VAT (since I am in the EU). What is the situation with this project? Will it be added once the addresses have been locked and then we'll get a notification to pay for it? I assume it's not included in the pricing of the pledges. So I was just wondering when I'd need to pay for this. I don't want to accidentally 'lose' my pledge due to missing VAT haha.
