Ellowyn's imagination often gets her into some well meaning but sticky situations. It doesn't help that her kitchen skills are as wobbly as a penguin on roller skates. One rainy afternoon she decided to come up with a whimsical creation using some unexpected ingredients. Set backs test Ellowyn’s resolve. Will she discover the missing ingredient that turns her sticky chaos into something magical? Join her on a silly and heartwarming journey where love, laughter, and stick-to-it-iveness transform every mistake into a delicious adventure. 

This story was inspired by an endearing recipe book that the real Ellowyn wrote when she was 5 years old. We plan to include 4 of those original recipes in the back of the book for extra giggles.

Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos promotes: 

This book is a 9x9 inch hardcover picture book, designed for children ages 3-10. If our funding goal is reached, the plan is to have the books printed using a high quality offset printer rather than a lower quality digital printer.

Early Bird Reward
If you pledge in the first 48 hours of the campaign, you will receive a complimentary digital copy of the book that inspired Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos - Ellowyn's Recipes. It's an endearing "cook book" with recipes created by  the real Ellowyn when she was 5 years old. The recipes won't turn out great if you try them at home, but they are sure to brighten your day when you read them.

Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos Book and an Activity Book - $20
This reward tier includes one hardback copy of Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos, signed by Rayleigh, the author/illustrator, and a matching printable activity book.

The Gift Set - $50
The ultimate Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos gift set. When you cook together in the kitchen, your child can wear a heart apron just like the one Ellowyn wears in the story, as well as a chef's hat with a picture of the two main characters on the front. A kid-sized rolling pin is also included and makes for such a charming set to gift to your child or another little loved one. This set also includes an author signed copy of Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos and a printable activity book.

Have Your Child's Artwork Featured In The Book! - $300
There will be a limited number of spots on the refrigerator door in the book to feature your child's artwork. A shout-out to your child will be in the book's acknowledgements and a copy of the book will be included in this reward package. There are only 3 spots available so this is an exclusive opportunity!

Donate a Book - $18
If you don't have a little one to purchase a book for, you can purchase a book to donate to a child. We have a number of organizations we are considering for these donations to go to, including Next Step Pregnancy Services for mothers-to-be in crisis who need some help and the LifeChange program for women and children through The Union Gospel Mission.

Donate Books to a Classroom - $375
This tier is available to anyone and may be especially appealing to business owners. You can purchase books to be given to an entire classroom of children. This would amount to approximately 24 children receiving a book. You can choose the classroom or we can choose for you. It can be a class at a formal school or a homeschool co-op. If the class is local, we can even read the book to the class.

You'll have an opportunity to add on to the tier that you choose. Add ons include additional copies of the book, an apron/hat set without the book for an additional child, stickers, and coloring pages. If our funding goal is reached and the campaign is successful, then shipping will be determined and charged after the campaign ends on August 20th. 

For packages that contain only books and are being shipped in the US, I can ship them through USPS Media Mail, which is discounted shipping rate. 

Packages that include the gift set will go by weight and pricing will depend on what add-ons you might get. 

If you are near Tualatin, Oregon, pick up is an option to avoid shipping costs. 

Here is a rough timeline of how I'm hoping things will go. It's hard to say how long it will take to complete the illustrations since I am a first time book illustrator. I will certainly keep you updated often on the progress and I'll try my best not to keep you wondering what's going on.

The professional editor and book designer have already been paid for. These are the expenses we have left to cover and that make up our $6000 funding goal.

Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos is written and illustrated by me, Rayleigh Leavitt. The story features my daughter, Ellowyn, and our dog Maple, with appearances by Little Sister Ember, Mama, and Dad. Here is a picture of our family.
