The fund raising is in the final stretch, and they are on track to raise four times the initial funding request. Roberta and I are not affiliated with the team that is doing the documentary. That said, I've been speaking with them continually, and even had them to our home to do some initial filming. They are passionate about the project, and I will continually be bugging them to make sure they not only follow through, but do something that is worth everyone's time and money. Sierra was a very special company, for everyone; Roberta and I, Sierra's employees, suppliers, customers, even our competitors. We were there when the industry was just getting rolling and played a significant role in the birth of the interactive entertainment industry. Even to this day, I receive frequent emails saying how Sierra changed lives (and built careers!). Roberta and I agreed to participate in the documentary because it is a story that affected millions of lives, and one that should be preserved for historic reasons. I'm hoping, and I expect, that the documentary team will bring out the stories of others in addition to Roberta and I. We only know a tiny percentage of the story. The documentary makers will be reaching out to Sierra's designers and others to get a broader perspective than has ever been recorded. I'm sure that in addition to the persons that have already agreed to be interviewed for the documentary, many others will be contacted. This would not have been possible without all of your support. Many thanks to you, and to the documentary team who I'm confident will surprise and enchant all of us. Best wishes all! Roberta and I are REALLY looking forward to seeing what they produce!
Project Update: 🎉 Thanks from the Legends of Adventure Team 🎉
That's a wrap on the Legends of Adventure crowdfunding campaign!
What an exciting final day it's been – thank you to all of our new backers who helped us go into overtime mode on the campaign, exceed 477% funded, and reach an incredible $357,557.75 raised! And to those who upgraded your pledges over the past few days, thank you for helping us get across the finish line with style.
Although we didn't reach our final stretch goal, we did come very close – and because of that, we may have some news to report about Legends of Adventure: The Book very soon.
In the meantime, our team will be taking a much-needed break tomorrow – but stay tuned because we'll have more updates for you soon about the next steps, from when production of the documentary will begin to rewards fulfillment, additional cast and crew member announcements, and more!
And, in case you missed it, you can watch a recording of our Campaign Wrap Party live stream – with a cavalcade of amazing guests from the world of adventure games – below:

Project Update: Pledge Processing + 3 Great Adventure Game-related Projects We Love!
After a very long campaign and an all-too-brief day of rest, we're back at it and here with a quick update, some housekeeping, and a bunch of amazing projects we're following!
Collecting Pledges
As many of you have probably already noticed, BackerKit has processed your pledges – thank you again for your generous support – and notified other backers about any failed payments.
We've received reports from a few backers of credit card companies flagging pledges as potential fraud and declining payment. If this has happened to you, a quick message to your bank or credit card company should resolve the situation and get any charges approved.
BackerKit has informed us that folks who have pledged to support Legends of Adventure have until August 20th to correct any payment issues.
If you're encountering any other issues related to your pledge, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] and we'll try to help you troubleshoot the issue or put you in touch with the BackerKit team.
Once all the pledges are sorted, we can continue our work on the documentary in earnest and begin the campaign fulfillment process!
3 Great Adventure Game-related Projects We Love
The Crimson Diamond - Julia Minimata
Arriving on Steam on August 15, Julia Minamata's retro-inspired, EGA text parser mystery adventure The Crimson Diamond follows amateur geologist and reluctant detective Nancy Maple to the ghost town of Crimson, Ontario to investigate the discovery of a massive diamond.
We've been following the development of The Crimson Diamond since it was first announced – it's one of the reasons we wanted to work with Julia on the documentary – and we can't wait to play it. If you're a fan of Sierra's Laura Bow games, we highly recommend checking this one out.

Heir of the Dog - Tall Story Games
Launching shortly after our campaign, the Kickstarter for Tall Story Games' Heir of the Dog, a new Jekyll & Hyde-inspired comedy adventure game from the creator of Lucy Dreaming, wraps up in just five days!
The point-and-click adventure fully funded in less than two hours and is currently closing in on its next stretch goal. Husband and wife creative team Tom and Emma Hardwidge have a proven track record and are helping keep the adventure games genre alive and well with wonderful projects like this.

Son of the Sequel 2.0 - Robert Holmes
And last but not least is a music project with a very cool connection to one of our favorite Sierra franchises: Gabriel Knight.
Sierra alum and composer Robert Holmes recently launched Son of Sequel 2.0 – an expanded version of his last album featuring music in the style of the Gabriel Knight games – on Indiegogo, and as a special bonus, all project backers will receive a new Gabriel Knight short story called Five Hearts, written by series creator Jane Jensen. We're excited for anything that results in more Gabriel Knight goodness in the world!

I figured there was a slight chance some of the Sierra creators might check this out, so I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to them. Thank you Ken for starting Sierra with Roberta and providing us all with your imaginative games. Your book Not All Fairy Tales Have Happy Endings was fantastic and I loved the insight you provided. Thank you Roberta for basically creating the adventure game genre with graphics. You are a fantastic story teller and I have played every one of the games you created, and still do to this day. And thanks to you both for returning with Colossal Cave! Thank you to Al Lowe for the Leisure Suit Larry games. The young me didn't appreciate them as much as the older me does now. Not sure my parents thank you though... Thank you to Lori Ann and Corey Cole for the Hero Quest games. They are my all time favorite series, and I still play though them from 1-5 to see my character grow! I wish you continued success with the Hero-U series! Thank you Jim Walls for the Police Quest series. I had a couple of relatives who worked in the police force and I loved how you strived for realism in procedure in your games. Thank you Two Guys from Andromeda for bringing humor in with the Space Quest games. Humor is hard and you brought it every time. Now about this SpaceVenture game... Thanks you Jane Jensen for Gabriel Knight. Great stories, great trying to push the genre forward. And thanks so much for Tim Curry as Gabriel in the first game! :) Thanks to Mark Seibert and Robert Holmes for bringing the games to life with their music! Music is such an important aspect to bringing emotion into those games! And of course thank you to everyone who is bringing this documentary to life. I can't wait to see the finished product and look forward to rewatching it for years to come. And lastly, thanks to all of you who pledged to make this a reality. I am happy to know there are still so many Sierra fans out there who still enjoy these creations all these decades later and still have the love for the games that we grew up with. I sincerely hope you all are anticipating this as much as I am!
Project Update: 24 HOURS LEFT: 400% Funded + Third Stretch Goal Unlocked!
With 24 hours until the end of the campaign, Legends of Adventure has hit 400% funded and unlocked our third stretch goal: An accompanying mini-doc series featuring extended interviews and hidden gems from the Sierra catalog. THANK YOU!
Over the next day, we will push towards our final stretch goal: Legends of Adventure: The Book
This coffee table-style companion book – featuring interviews and behind-the-scenes stories collected during the production of the doc – will be available to pre-order for all backers!
We'll need your help to get to that final stretch goal in the next 24 hours though, so if you've backed the project already please continue to share the BackerKit page with all the Sierra fans and adventure game aficionados in your life – and ask them to Join the Quest before time runs out!
And don't forget: If you'd like to help the project even more, consider upgrading your existing pledges to higher tiers. We still have the exciting Premiere Quest, Star Quest, and VIP Quest tiers available for intrepid adventurers – and this will be your last chance to book your spot for the world premiere of the documentary!
If you're a Sierra fan and you haven't supported the project yet, please consider backing it before the campaign ends.
Not only will you be purchasing a copy of the documentary (and all the extra goodies we're offering to backers), but you'll also be helping our team produce this film at a level that will do justice to the incredibly interesting and important story of Sierra On-Line. We want this documentary to be the best possible film it can be.

Hi guys - loving the campaign, and love the trailer. I grew up in the 80's and 90's on Sierra quests, so this is a massive dose of fantastic nostalgia! PLEASE make the background music from the trailer available, it honestly sounded like the early AdLib versions of the King's Quest music. At least that's what it reminded me of. LOVE IT!

I’m going to miss you all. Sharing the last 30 days with you was a real joy. Looking at the campain’s progress multiple times a day, reading your comments and stories, and feeling connected with other Sierra lovers like me was a true blessing. Proud of what we accomplished. All the best, my friends.
